What the indicator does, the questions it can help answer, and its fresh-install defaults.

A pivot confirms only after Pivot Strength bars exist on both sides and every neighboring extreme is strictly less extreme. An opposite-side pivot then forms a candidate leg; a qualifying leg must clear two filters — a minimum displacement in ATR units and a minimum directional efficiency, the leg’s range divided by the accumulated true-range path between its anchors.

A qualifying leg archives the fan it replaces and becomes current. The chart shows as many as four current or archived fans; a fifth qualification evicts the oldest. A confirmed source close strictly beyond the current origin ends its current status and freezes that fan at the invalidation time rather than deleting it.

Each fan draws five configurable ratios from the same construction: constructionPrice(r) equals the leg-end price plus the origin-to-leg-end difference times r, so ratio 0 sits at the leg end and ratio 1 at the origin. Lifecycle projection ends the current fan at the latest chart bar and completed fans at their replacement or invalidation cutoff; Infinite extends every visible ray right using the same anchors and slope.

A fixed top-right board reports the current fan only: a horizontal rail, projected price, and confirmed-bar interaction state — Above/Below, Tested, Rejected, Broken, or post-break Held — for each visible level, plus an independent Golden Pocket row that classifies the last confirmed close against the 0.618–0.650 zone.

How it works

How the indicator turns chart data into the states and drawings you see.

Confirmed, alternating anchors

A pivot confirms only after the configured bars exist on both sides. The sequence alternates sides; a same-side pivot replaces the latest one only when strictly more extreme, and a source bar that is both a strict high and low is resolved using only the side opposite the latest pivot.

Two-filter qualification

A completed leg qualifies only when its ATR-normalized displacement meets the minimum leg size and its directional efficiency — range divided by the true-range path between anchors — meets the minimum. Comparisons are inclusive; a zero Custom threshold disables that filter.

Bounded fan queue

A qualifying opposite leg archives the current fan and becomes current; a qualifying same-origin revision updates the current fan instead of duplicating it. Visible Fans caps the queue from 1 through 4, and a new qualification evicts the oldest fan once the cap is reached.

Invalidation, not deletion

A confirmed source close strictly beyond the current origin ends current status and freezes that fan at its invalidation time; equality holds it. The frozen fan still counts toward Visible Fans and remains on the chart as history.

Ray construction and projection

Every ray runs from the origin through the leg end, priced at each ratio by the same leg-end-plus-difference-times-ratio formula. Lifecycle bounds current and completed rays at their respective cutoffs; Infinite extends the same anchors and slope to the right instead of changing the geometry.

Gradient fill and Golden Pocket

Gradient shades stepped bands between adjacent visible levels and gives the current price’s band a 1.75x spotlight capped at 60%. The Golden Pocket is a separate, always-available 0.618–0.650 wedge at a fixed 24% opacity that stays independent of Fill Mode and level visibility.

Confirmed-bar interaction states

Each visible level and the Golden Pocket classify the last confirmed chart-bar close against an ATR-scaled zone around their projected price: Tested, Rejected, Broken, or Held after a break. States persist with their completed-bar age until the next interaction, and reset whenever the current fan changes.

Higher-timeframe anchors

Chart or an equal-duration selection uses chart bars. A strictly higher selection uses completed source bars for qualification while placing each pivot at its exact chart-bar high or low inside the higher-timeframe candle; a lower or non-comparable selection yields no fan and the board names the reason.

Alerts and limitations

What can notify you, what can change the output, and what the indicator cannot establish.

Alerts

Limits to keep visible

  • Anchors and qualification are automatic. There is no manual-anchor mode, horizontal Fibonacci grid, or ratio extension outside 0–1.
  • Visible Fans caps the queue at four. Older qualifying fans are evicted rather than retained as a complete historical record.
  • A confirmed pivot requires Pivot Strength bars on both sides, so the newest possible anchor is always delayed by that many bars.
  • Heikin Ashi, Renko, Kagi, Line Break, and other nonstandard chart types can supply synthetic or approximate values; standard-bar parity is not claimed.
  • Confirmed pivots do not establish verified non-repainting behavior, and invalidation uses the confirmed close of the selected source, not a wick.
  • The Golden Pocket’s 0.650 edge is a conventional buffer boundary, not a Fibonacci-derived ratio, and neither it nor any level implies support, resistance, or a trade setup.
  • A higher-timeframe anchor selection delays updates twice — once for pivot-right confirmation, once for completed-source delivery — before it reaches the chart.

Troubleshooting

Start with what you see on the chart. Each answer explains the likely cause and the first setting, timeframe, or data condition to check.

Why is there no current fan?

The engine may still be waiting on a first or opposite-side pivot, the latest candidate leg may have failed a qualification filter, the current fan may have just invalidated, or the Anchor Timeframe selection may be unsupported. Read the status board’s waiting or warning message — a lower Anchor Timeframe or an unsupported comparison shows its own correction.

Why did an older fan disappear?

Check Visible Fans. The cap runs 1 through 4, and a fifth qualifying fan evicts the oldest. Invalidation freezes a fan instead of deleting it, so a fan that vanished from the visible set may simply be past the cap.

Why do the rays stop before the right edge of the chart?

Lifecycle is the default projection: current rays stop at the latest chart bar and completed rays stop at their replacement or invalidation cutoff. Switch Projection to Infinite to extend every visible ray right.

Why is a fill band missing or in an unexpected place?

Bands form between adjacent visible ratios sorted by actual value, not by row number. A hidden level is skipped, and two levels set to the same ratio produce no band between them.

Why can’t I edit the level colors?

Color Scheme must be set to Custom. Any of the nine preset schemes intentionally disables the five Color pickers and uses its own palette instead.

Why is the Golden Pocket still showing when I turned the levels off?

Show Golden Pocket is independent of Fill Mode and the five editable levels. Turn it off directly if the 0.618–0.650 wedge should not appear.

Why did a higher-timeframe fan update later than expected?

An Anchor Timeframe above the chart applies two delays: the pivot needs its right-side source bars to confirm, and that completed-source result then needs to reach the chart. Both extend delivery beyond what the chart timeframe alone would show.
